The State of Tripura was a princely state up till it’s merger with the Union of India on 15th October, 1949. During the time of princely state there was a Judicial Department which had been renamed as ‘Law Department’ after the merger. Law Department is the administrative department of the State judiciary, State Legislature and the State Legal Services Authority.
